2nd Street NW, Washington DC
This is a night shot taken outside the house I was staying at in DC, on a ten-second exposure to give the sky that cinematic swirly feel. I like the framing with the car at the front of the shot and the positioning of the telegraph pole in the shot, as that’s what drew my eye in. And also what it shows about how crappy the roads are in DC – cracks and potholes all over the place. Also the minor US phenomenon of which I was totally unaware of having to park your car facing with the flow of traffic, otherwise you get a parking ticket. Looks very neat and tidy on the streets, but seems a bit nuts to me as a concept.
