Hayward Gallery, South Bank, London
This is from the exterior of the Hayward Gallery, which has a superlative Ed Ruscha retrospective on until January, which you should go and see. Their giant version of ‘The Study of Friction and Wear on Mating Surfaces’ really imposes itself over the hideous concrete of some of the South Bank buildings. This was a nice view of it from a puddle, although I had to wait five minutes for the wind to stop blowing across the puddle. Here’s a decent introduction to the exhibition and the man’s work…
