Ibstock Junior School, Leicestershire

I had cause to visit the village where I grew up this weekend, so took time out to do a quick tour of the familiar sights. It’s amazing how little has changed in Ibstock since I was last there, ooh, probably fifteen years ago. The same shops are still there (Halls Electricals I thought would have closed down in the 90s), and all the non-places I used to hang out are pretty much untouched. This is my old junior school – just seeing this playground instantly brought back so many memories that it was breathtaking.

Oh yeah, the photo… I like the ice detail that’s come through on the fence, and the view of the street down to the left.

Nice – I heard my old school got knocked down to make way for a modern building :( bah. Aesthetically pleasing photo – it’s cool how places can bring back so many memories, had the same railings at my school and remember Malcolm Edwards getting his head stuck and needing the fire brigade to get him out. Funniest day of school ever.
